The Yukon River Chinook Salmon Project

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), in partnership with local organizations, conducts research on juvenile chinook salmon and other species in Alaska's Yukon River delta. Little is known about the salmon during this life stage when they are preparing to leave the river to become marine fish. The research will help provide information on factors that affect fish survival. The goal of this video is to provide findings to local communities who rely on this important resource.

• Familiarity working in remote locations and inclimate weather
• Extensive Alaska boating experience
• Alaska Native cultural awareness
